At VueMotion, we’re constantly evolving our platform to better serve the needs of coaches, practitioners, and performance professionals. That’s why we’re excited to introduce our latest feature update: Video Compare — a powerful enhancement to the user experience that gives coaches a dynamic way to compare two videos side-by-side, with synced playback and corresponding performance data displayed in unison.
Whether you’re working with elite athletes or tracking return-to-play metrics, Video Compare provides new levels of insight by letting you analyze movement patterns across sessions, perspectives, or even between different athletes — all in one place.
Four Ways to Use Video Compare
Within the new Video Compare feature, users now have the ability to view two videos side-by-side with fully synced playback and matching result metrics. Here are the four primary ways coaches and practitioners can leverage this:
1. Compare Multiple Views Within a Single Assessment
Easily load two camera angles (such as sagittal and frontal) from the same assessment. This gives you a more complete perspective on how an athlete moves — allowing for clearer observation of technique, joint angles, and compensatory patterns. Playback is automatically synced, and you can view notes and results from both views together.
2. Compare Two Different Assessments in the Same Session
Want to evaluate left vs. right change of direction within the same testing session? Video Compare lets you load both assessments side-by-side to visualize asymmetries and performance differences — a powerful tool when working with athletes recovering from injury or those requiring detailed movement analysis.
3. Track Progress Over Time
Now you can load two clips of the same movement performed by the same athlete at different points in time. For example, compare a change-of-direction test pre- and post-injury, or review how sprint form has evolved over weeks or months of training viewing associated kinograms side-by-side. It’s a great way to quantify progress and validate the impact of your interventions.
4. Compare Across Athletes
Lastly, you can use Video Compare to evaluate two different athletes side-by-side — whether they’re from the same team, same session, or different time periods. This is especially helpful for benchmarking: comparing an elite mover to someone still developing, can provide both coaches and athletes a visual model of what success looks like, with real-time data to back it up.
Video Compare seamlessly integrates into your current VueMotion workflow, and we believe it will be a game-changer for fast, actionable analysis. By enabling synced side-by-side video and metric comparison, you can now make quicker, clearer, and more confident decisions — all from one screen.
To start using Video Compare, simply head to the Explore Video section in your VueMotion dashboard.
